Live Like You’re Dying

Kinda of quite like this song recently, although it has been around for quite sometime. Find it nice & meaningful.

Live Like You’re Dying – Lenka

one of these days you’ll be

under the covers you’ll be

under the table and you’ll realize

that all of your days are numbered

all of them one to one hundred

all of them millions

all of them trillions

so what are you gonna do with them all?

you can not trade them in for more

no no

take every moment, you know that you own them

it’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you

give me a reason

to fight the feeling

that there’s nothing here for me

cause none of its easy

i know it wasn’t meant to be

i know it’s all up to me

it’s all up to me

so what am i gonna do with my time?

oh

i’ll take every moment, i know that i own them

it’s all up to you to do whatever you choose

live like you’re dying and never stop trying

it’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you

all of the moments you didn’t notice

gone in the blink of an eye

and all of the feelings you can’t help feeling

no matter how you try

oh oh

take every moment, you know that you own them

it’s all up to you

to do whatever you choose

live like you’re dying and never stop trying

it’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you

live like you’re dying and never stop trying

it’s all up to you, use what’s been given to you

oh oh

Nature walk – Chek Java

I went to Chek Java in Pulau Ubin with XX & her Colleagues last Sunday. It has been years since I last went there, it has become much more commercialise. There are many more stores for renting bicycles & more “Zi Char” stores. Somehow, it has lost its original “Kampong” feel. The building for the so-called “school” during that time has been converted to Npark building (if I remember correctly), the only thing left at the site is – the “discarded” basket ball court.

Though with the changes & horrible weather, I still enjoy the trip. Thanks to Debbie, Debbie’s friend, Diyah & XX.

Stupid or Naive

How would you classify a person?

Stupid or naive?

I have a male friend, Age: 40+, Educational level: Diploma, currently working as an Engineer

A couple weeks ago, someone from overseas call him to do a survey.

Since he was doing nothing at work, he just entertained them & did the survey.

2 weeks later, the person who asked him to do the survey called up & told him that he won a lucky draw (so drama right)

He won a luxury shower set worth S$70K – Congratulation! (What kind of shower set worth S$70K – gold plated?)

305308107_1914784cb8

There were two options for him:

A) to ship the set over from Hong Kong

B) to “sell” the item back to the sponsor and receive money in return.

Of course my friend chose option B, who would want a shower set to be shipped over & some more it worth S$70K ~

Those people from the survey company called up 3-5 times a day to chat with my friend (brainwashing him)

So in order for the money to be remitted to him, he needed to 1st TT some money to them to cover for administration fees & insurance etc.

4K – Administration fee

7K – Insurance

And guess what, my friend really TT the money over to them, without finding out more information.

He don’t even know who was the other party that he TT his money over.

The other party claimed to be some “charity organization”.

Don’t you find it funny, a survey company becomes a charity organization?

The survey people committed that after he TT the money over, he will receive his S$70K in the next few days

My dear friend even gave him all his information like IC number, bank account number etc.

To make things worse, this some of money was borrowed from his sister

Well, as per all stories goes. Of course he did not receive the money as per committed.

He called up the survey people and they made up some stories to him.

& trust him, my friend actually buys their stories and he still tell them never mind.

My friend kept saying thank you to them & expressing his gratitude. & he kept emphasizing on the “Gratitude”.

OMG, can you believe this? Is he really that naive?

Frankly, I will classify it under greed. Who really believe that money will “fall” from sky?

Such cases had been widely reported in our news & even on crime watch. They are on-going for quite a few years.

My 77 year old grandma also knows that this is a fraud, how could someone like my friend fall into such trap?

* Please please, relate this story to anyone that you know. This is a true story that happened to my friend.

Intention is not to imply that they are stupid, naive or greedy, sometime it is just good to re-highlight such things to them to raise their alertness and prevent more of such cases.

My naive friend only went to the police after he can’t find the survey people, but it was all too late.

Better be safe than to be sorry.

Time to Go

People come & people go

Happiness will come with them

Unhappiness will follow by when they left

This is part & parcel of life

Time will heal everything

Do not be sad, she had lived a life of 99 years

Seen everything she were required to see

I know you will miss her

She will live in our heart as long as our mind is “alive”
